Bamboo charcoal has the following properties:

Water purification: Bamboo charcoal breaks down chlorine and bleach in the water and absorb harmful substances. Natural minerals in the charcoal are released to transform the bitter taste of hard water into slightly alkaline, sweet and healthy mineral water.

Deodorization and air purification: The porous nature of bamboo charcoal helps it absorb harmful substances and foul smells in the air to achieve deodorization and air purification effects.  

Releases natural minerals: Bamboo charcoal releases the natural minerals of moso bamboo.

Regulates indoor humidity: The porous nature of bamboo charcoal absorbs ambient moisture like a dry sponge and releases the moisture when the air is too dry, thereby stabilizing humidity in the air.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare states that black powder derived through high temperature carbonization is recognized as food-grade and may be used for natural food coloring.
